Creative Sparks Performing Arts

Who are we?
Creative Sparks is a studio dedicated to the instruction and practice of the performing arts for students from 3-18 years. We have occasional performances and an annual amazing 2-night recital, giving students the opportunity to share what they’ve learned throughout the year and to perform on stage.

Our mission
Here at creative sparks we prioritize loving and nurturing all of our dancers while teaching our students how to achieve great technique.
We strive to provide our dancers with a positive dance environment and give all an opportunity to fall in love with dancing. We want to create a foundation that generates healthy dancers all the while teaching them real life skills that that they will be able to take into the world.
We take pride in knowing we have a friendly and uplifting atmosphere for anyone that enters our studio.

Meet our Instructors

Alyssa Pokorski
Owner & Director
Alyssa has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Most of her training as been from Heidi Mills whom is now her mentor and co owner! Alyssa’s dance background started with Vaganova ballet. She later went on to study jazz, tap, contemporary and modern dance. At the age of 9 she started student teaching. Alyssa now teaches ballet, hip hop, tap, contemporary and jazz. She went to Oregon State University and worked towards a Human Development degree with an emphasis in psychology. “Dancing is my happy place and I love being able to share that with others.
Maria Dela Puente
Intermediate & Advanced Hip Hop
My name is Maria and I was born and raised in Reno, NV. My dance career began when I was in middle school. Training with many local dance instructors and experiencing very different forms of hip hop. The one thing that stayed consistent in each class I took was the level of movement positivity. I was never put down because of the way my body interpreted movements. Which is what I want my dancers to experience. I want them to be able to explore the ways they like to move, and what they are capable of. And the best way for them to do that is to know that this environment is supportive and respectful. Most of all I want them to have fun! If they aren’t having fun then it’s all for nought.
Zoe Bloom
Performance Ballet, Tap, Jazz
My name is Zoe, I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. Growing up I had always loved dance, and when I was 13 years old I had the opportunity to see a Russian ballet while visiting St.Petersburg. Ever since then I knew that’s what I wanted to do and began my studies at Reno Dance Company. I stayed there for 6 years spending about 25 hours a week taking any and every dance class I could. Now I am so honored and excited to share my knowledge and help inspire dancers at Creative Sparks.
Mattie Levrette
Ballet & Little Sparks
My name is Mattie, I am a 19 year old born and raised Nevada girl. I have been dancing since I was 2 years old, taking every class under the sun. I have a background in competition dancing for about 6 years and decided to change my path to a more family dynamic. I’ve studied human development for years, and love connecting it to movement through dance! Dance is my first love, and always will be, and to share that passion with honor to all students is a dream come true.
Kaelyn Stucki
Modern, Little Sparks, Broadway Jazz
Miss Kaelyn studied dance at the Conservatory of Movement and tested with the Royal Academy of Dance. She continued dance at Brigham Young University of Idaho majoring in history and performance theatre. Kaelyn is married to Chandler Stucki who has been her partner in choreographing for various high schools and together they own the children’s theatre company Vocal Motion Musicals. Kaelyn is currently teaching Modern, Broadway Jazz, and Little Sparks tap and ballet. Kaelyn’s goal as a teacher is to help students feel comfortable using their bodies as instruments to communicate emotion and story telling, finding their own voice through dance. The best part about teaching is witnessing dancers take that next step towards emotional expression and giving their movements purpose and meaning. “Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.”-Martha Graham (aka Miss Kaelyn’s hero)
